Karmic Law: The Law of Growth

Karmic Law: The Law of Growth

The Karmic Law of Growth is a 3-step lesson. The law states we should constantly seek to grow as individuals. This lesson can be getting better at something in life. It can also be as simple as ridding yourself of vices. Understanding we only control ourselves is another lesson. This piece helps those of us that seem to want so much change in life, but never seem to believe we can and should be that change. It can also assist us when attempting to get someone to do or see something in life. We can’t make anyone come to a decision or conclusion. The third lesson is as we grow and change so does everyone around us. This teaching helps us deal with not controlling people and things directly. It tells controls freaks like most of us what we need to hear. The law tells us we can indirectly change our surroundings by changing ourselves.

Back to lesson 1. We should constantly seek to grow. Some think the thought process of constant growth is common, it is not. As children, we are forced to grow. Physically, as long as we eat, drink, and stay alive, growth takes care of itself. Mentally, we are placed into school which forces us to learn. Emotionally, the adults around us shape our emotional makeup. We then become adults and find ourselves on our own. It is then up to us to push, force, inquire, desire, seek, aspire, but do we? Outside of our jobs and sometimes not even there, many of us receive no push to grow. Most of the jobs we have don’t want us to grow. Companies can’t promote everyone. They need people to be okay being still, and most unwittingly raise hands to volunteer every day. Others are money motivated. Money can get you going, but often in many different directions. The goal of money is so general it leads many in a new direction every season or sooner. Be careful. Be extremely specific when you set out to improve yourself or your current state of affairs. Having a focus will be the difference between success and failure.

Lesson 2 teaches us to focus on ourselves but in more of a mind your business sought of way. Many of us tend to want to be the voice of reason. “This should be this way.” “That should be another.” “Someone should do something.” Yeah, us. We should do something. Part of growth is being the change. If we catch ourselves stating that someone should do something, we should stop and ask why aren’t we doing it? If you are not going to be the change, the law of growth says to mind your business. We also can become obsessed with being the reason someone does or figures out something. This stance is egotistical and can lead to unneeded grief. Grief in failing to attempt a task, we cannot do. Making someone see the light is not an actual thing. Only a person can convince themselves of something. We also suffer when/if that person does eventually see the light, and seems to have no recollection of you ever pointing them towards it. It’s not worth it. The law of growth says to focus on you. If everyone does it, it will all work out.

Lesson 3 attempts to put us who aren’t content with lesson 2 at ease. We can’t change anyone, but changing ourselves can change our surroundings. We need to embrace this teaching. While embracing it, we should understand that this doesn’t always mean that changing ourselves will get the people we want to change also. It states that changing ourselves will change our surroundings. Those people who refuse to grow will no longer be around us. There is lack of connection between yourself and those who you’d like to see change for the better, now. How strong do you think that connection will be as you better yourself? We must be okay with losing those who will not join us on the desire to grow. We must also be okay with losing others who are willing when we are not. If we want change we must be it, not simply speak it. The Karmic Law of Growth tells us to focus on what we can change, which is ourselves.

In closing, the law of growth is a difficult lesson to accept. It is strict in its teachings because it tells us to stop doing things we feel are positives. We believe pushing people towards better is an admirable trait. Why would we allow someone in our circle to run into a wall? The law states not to fret over the completion of what the advice is for, but does not state not to try. Point, but don’t wait for movement. It’s not your growth. It is not your journey.

It tells us to move or don’t, making us be the change we want or reminding us to shut up about it. The law of growth attempts to give us a consolation prize in telling us, changing ourselves can change the surroundings we don’t control, but in the same instance, lets us know that our surroundings may not include some of our current circle. Not all lessons are easy to grasp and apply. This lesson is one of them. Attempt to be the best you, you can be. It is the entire list of what should have us worrying.
