Never Fear Adjustments

Never Fear Adjustments

We all have grand plans and believe the “plan” is the “way” to do whatever “it” is we set our sights on. We spend time on our plans and are slow to move off course. The problem is our first plan is to get us started. The initial plan rarely gets us to the finish line but can absolutely keep us from it. Stubbornness, arrogance, or fear can prevent us from getting to where we all want to be. We’ll discuss the reasons to overcome all obstacles preventing us from trying something new to get somewhere we have never been.

We enable flexibility which is the biggest issue with sticking to our original plan. We don’t place flexibility in our initial plan because it’s perfect as far as we are concerned, and you don’t mess with perfection. Of course, we are mistaken. If our eyes are open, this revelation is early in the process. The majority of us miss or ignore it. We’ll keep pushing forward, leaving the possibility of our initial plan falsely showing us we are on the right track. Learning is allowed when we accept the need for changed. We become open to evaluating reasons why our plan needs to be adjusted. We analyze what went wrong. We can identify potential areas for improvement and apply that knowledge to our future.

The openness continues to give gifts. The first additional gift is better outcomes. By incorporating new information or taking a different approach, we are able to achieve a more desirable result than if we had stuck rigidly to the original plan. Reduced stress is another perk. Holding onto a plans no longer feasible or effective can be stressful and anxiety-inducing. By being willing to adjust the goal, we can relieve some of that pressure and feel more in control. Less stress and more authority equal better focus. Better focus tilts the odds in our favor. In a world full of dreamers, we’ll need every advantage attainable.

One regular inclusion in our plans is the singularity. We must do it all ourselves. This choice is a huge mistake. A collaborative effort a large part of the success of our goals. Adjusting a plan can be a collaborative undertaking, involving input from multiple people. They don’t need to be part of your circle. Knowledge can come from anywhere. Embrace help in the form of books, videos, or podcasts. Large amounts of beneficial information being shared these days for free. There is also even better information sold. Don’t rule out investing money into a person or people whose free information has helped. Imagine what the paid information will do. Yes, assistance from others is the difference between a stagnant journey and a joyful free-flowing one.

In closing, never fear adjustments. Adjustments are a critical part of growth and success. Overcoming ugly personality traits like stubbornness, arrogance, and fear are the hurdles in front of you. It is way easier to read about overcoming these traits than it is to do it, but knowing is the start. We want a change for the better. We want this, and we want that. It will take a change to get where we have never been. If we were already the person we needed to be to get where we aim to be, we would be there already.

Food for thought. You do the dishes!
